Canvas: Show the full group title when the cursor hovers over the group title

Use case or problem

If a group has a long title, it is not displayed in its entirety and there is no way to display it. In some cases it may help to maximize zoom so that it is reduced in size, allowing more characters to be displayed, but:

  • It’s inconvenient
  • If the title is really long, it won’t display in full even when maximized.

Some examples:

  • The group title "hierarchy: from more fundamental to less fundamental" is not displayed in its entirety at a comfortable zoom level for interacting with the canvas, but still “fits” in the group name line at maximum zoom.

  • The group title "hierarchy: from a stronger natural forces to a less strong natural forces" does not fit in the line even at maximum zoom.

One of the possible solutions is to make it so that when you put the mouse cursor over a group title, a pop-up box displays its full title - like in the case of tab titles:

Possible workaround:

.canvas-group-label {
    max-width: calc(300% / var(--zoom-multiplier));
}

This CSS snippet increases the maximum width of the group title line by 3 times relative to the default width. If you want to increase it even more, change the value 300 to a higher value.

Certainly not the best solution, but it’s better than not seeing the group title at all…

upd:
The width of the group title line will be default, but when you hover the cursor over the group title it will be increased by 3 times, which will allow to display more text:
