Me too! Not being able to use tags (part of my core method for organisation in obsidian) stops me from using canvas, although I like the function very much.
Iām primarily interested in tagging an entire canvas (as one can with .md files), but also individual notes within the canvas (as one can with blocks of text).
Use case or problem
I make a canvas mindmap about game AI and add a #game-ai tag to a card, when i make another canvas that has something to do with game AI the #game-ai doesnt show up in the suggestions, it isnt even recognized as a tag
Proposed solution
Make tags in canvas be treated as normal tags
