Me too! Not being able to use tags (part of my core method for organisation in obsidian) stops me from using canvas, although I like the function very much.
I’m primarily interested in tagging an entire canvas (as one can with .md files), but also individual notes within the canvas (as one can with blocks of text).
Use case or problem
I make a canvas mindmap about game AI and add a #game-ai tag to a card, when i make another canvas that has something to do with game AI the #game-ai doesnt show up in the suggestions, it isnt even recognized as a tag
Proposed solution
Make tags in canvas be treated as normal tags

Really need this! Kind of stops me from using canvas views as I really depend on Tags and Links. As it stands there’s no Links for when you create a wikilink or backlinks…

+1 I’m using tags to pull notes into Bases and would like to see Canvas (and other Bases) listed in my bases list of relevant files.
I dropped the use of directories for on my notes and exclusively use tags. And I’m into canvases. You got my vote for supporting tags on canvas.
