Can't install Obsidian - "Obsidian is running"

What I’m trying to do

New install of Obsidian on my Windows laptop.

I get an error saying “Obsidian is running. Click OK to close it. If it doesn’t close, try closing it manually”.

Things I have tried

  1. Clicking OK. The Setup gives another error: “Obsidian cannot be closed. Please close it manually and click Retry to continue”. Clicking Retry just gives the same error.
  2. Using Task Manager to check for Obsidian processes. There are none except the Setup itself.
  3. Restarting.
  4. Running the Setup as Administrator.
  5. Downloading an earlier version.

I’m really confused. This laptop has never had Obsidian installed.

Okay, all fixed now. I was able to make a kid’s account on Windows, give it admin access, then install on there
