Cannot use Obsidian "because someone else is using it"

Hi, my wife and I share a laptop and we both use Obsidian. When she has Obsidian open in her OSX account and I switch to mine and then try to open Obsidian, it won’t open and will show this error: “Cannot open Obsidian because someone else is using it”.

This is happening with Obsidian 0.13.12 on a Mac OSX 10.15.7.

I found an old closed thread describing this same problem ("because someone else is using it" - #3 by eleog) but it doesn’t look to have been fixed.

did you try downloading and reinstalling obsidian?
