I’m using GrapheneOS and trying to log into sync. I’ve used Obsidian offline for a bit now but would like to take advantage of the sync features. When I try to log in to sync, the login fails, much like what is described here. This thread claims it is an issue with webview.
No, it’s not possible to change the default webview.
I’m not sure what I can do to rectify this beyond changing to a different OS. I don’t know what Obsidian checks for in regards to webview, but it’s possible it’s causing issues for me. Is this stemming from a security feature intended to ensure an up-to-date webview? Any help is appreciated. I’d post as a bug report but this is likely a niche issue.
Maybe it’s a webview issue, but I’ll just double check some other basic things first:
Can you confirm, did you already purchase Obsidian Sync?
Next, can you be more specific about how it fails? And what specifically you’re seeing? Can you share a screenshot? That other thread shows a login failure, but that could be caused by having the wrong username and password too.
So again just to double check first: Are you aware that if you buy Obsidian Sync, your Obsidian account is different than this forum account? And any remote vault you create will have a separate password too. So be sure to keep track of all those passwords separately. (Maybe you know all that. Just double checking!)
I´m having the same problem, i payed the sync feature, but i just can´t login by the pc. I can do this from the smartphone, same login same password, but in the pc, no game.

Yes, I have purchased Obsidian Sync and set it up! It works between my desktop and laptop without issue.
The login screen shows the red error box with “Login failed, please double check your email and password”. If it is important, this was accessed on the android app via Settings > Sync > Log In. I’d share a screenshot, but there’s no other information visible except my email.
On that second double check, I wasn’t aware of that difference. However, I’ve tested the combo I have multiple times via manual entry and copy/paste and it still brings up the same error (and I’ve confirmed that this is the same combo that works on pc). Any ideas how I can circumvent this?
