[ ] buttons no longer automatically create [[]] / links

Steps to reproduce

After quitting the application and re-opening it, my [ or ] buttons only create single brackets, no longer automatically creating a link

e.g. " link " --> highlight text + [ -->

Expected result

[[link]]

Actual result

[link]

I always had to select and type two times [
to create a [[link]]
Maybe I am missing something.
