Hi there!
When I try to delete a full word with Ctrl+Backspace, in live preview mode, on Android, using a keyboard connected to my tablet device, it seems to do the same as Backspace, which just removes a single character. I think this is a bug as most/all apps would remove the entire word that’s before the cursor, in that case.
(Well, Obsidian is still delightful despite this very tiny small bug!)
