Steps to reproduce
I have not yet reproduced this from scratch in a clean vault. These are the circumstances in which I found the problem:
-
Import notes from OneNote using the official Importer plugin.
-
Open an imported note whose image link contains an unmatched opening parenthesis in the attachment filename.
-
The image does not display, although the attachment file exists.
Here is a shortened illustration of the malformed link, not the original filename:

Changing it to the following restored the image in the affected note, without moving or renaming the attachment:

Did you read and follow the Troubleshooting Guide? [Yes/No]
No—not yet completed.
Expected result
The imported note should display its image correctly, including when the attachment filename contains unmatched parentheses.
Actual result
The image link was broken. Encoding the parentheses in the link destination as %28 and %29 restored the image.
I have confirmed the repair for one note. I have not established whether Importer itself or a later operation produced the malformed link, or how many other notes are affected.
Environment
-
OS: Windows
-
Obsidian version: 1.13.7
-
Installer version: 1.12.7
-
Importer version: 3.1.5
-
Import source: OneNote
-
Link format: Standard Markdown links
Other enabled plugins shown in my settings:
-
Advanced Rename and Delete Handler: 1.3.0
-
AttachFlow: 0.4.5
-
BMO Chatbot: 2.3.3
-
BRAT: 2.2.0
-
Custom Attachment Location: 12.0.0
-
File Cleaner Redux: 1.15.2
Full debug information has not yet been collected.
Additional information
File Cleaner Redux listed the affected attachment as unused despite the note’s intended reference to it. I have paused attachment cleanup to avoid deleting files needed by notes with broken links.
I understand that Importer bugs should be reported on GitHub, but I do not have a GitHub account. Could someone help determine whether this is an Importer issue and advise how to get the confirmed example to its maintainers?
