ability to have both sidebars (left and right) on one side of the screen, similar to apple notes and bear notes, for example.
IMO, this is much more convenient - I can have a tall list of tags or folders on one sidebar and search results on other, so you won’t have to move across whole screen from clicking a tag to results…
I know I can have both ‘tags’ and ‘search’ panes on one sidebar, but they share height of a
screen.
or you can think of it this way - having and “control” panes on one side is more accurate design, in general…
Proposed solution
simple solution, one option named, e.g. “sidebars layout” with 3-state
- default (one sidebar on left, one sidebar on right)
- both sidebars on left
- both sidebar on right
