Boring questions about sync

I’m thinking about buying the sync add-on but I’d like to know a bit more first. I’ve already read the wiki and forums.

First, where does it store your markdown files? Are they still stored locally on the original hard drive, or moved to a cloud location?

Second, does it also sync all your plug-ins and preferences?

still keeps the fine in your drive as well as on the cloud
