Please stop trying to open the navigation menu the moment you click on it.
When touching an unsupported attachment, I want the preview to be blank or to indicate that it cannot be previewed.
There are two reasons.

It unintentionally unzips zip files and other files on the finder, and opens applications that don’t need to be opened.

When I want to check the backlinks of an attachment from the navigation menu, supported files are shown in the backlinks pane, but unsupported files have the above behavior, so there is no way to check the backlink information.
