Beginner question → Cupertino theme: how to get the icons for tasks to show up?

The theme has this beautiful alternative checkboxes, but they don’t seem to work for me, is there something I have to install?

Thank you!!

All these theme based task icons work based on the character inside the check box.

- [ ] This is the normal checkbox
- [x] This is a checked checkbox

Normally you can replace the x with any character and it will look the same in reading/live preview modes. But themes like Cupertino make it so some character give a different look.

If you scrolled just below the picture you would have seen the legend

I did see the legend and I’ve tried them all but I still don’t get the icons:

You’ll want to put the text on the same line for it to be recognized as a checkbox item with the correct formatting.

- [?]

This _doesn't_ work.

- [?] This **does** work.

Yields

Having empty space after the - [<symbol>] doesn’t work.

:see_no_evil_monkey: that was so simple, thank you so much

A bit confused as why you are replying with this here. You were not part of the original convo; why “thanks for letting us know”? Seems like bot behavior. You’re on the watch list. :clipboard:
