Bases are genuinely incredible and I’m trying to figure how to maximize their potential in speeding up my note taking.
Use case or problem
I will create bases to easily see lists of my notes along with certain properties. It becomes really convenient to look at the base than make a MAP or look through folders. However when then going to these notes, they don’t have back links back to the base. It does not count as a real link. Looking at the graph view also shows a bunch of floating notes with no links, even if they all appear in the same base view together.
Proposed solution
If a note appears in a base, it should count as a full link. If it appears in the default view, it will link to the view. Else, it links to the specific view that the note appears in. Alternatively, it could show a list of all the views it appears in underneath the base heading when looking at the backlinks.
This would mean:
- Scrolling to the bottom of a note would have a quick backlink to the base view that it appears in
- Graph view would be able to show clusters of thought since all of these notes relate to the same base.
