Even when there is plenty of room in a column, and even where there is only one list item to display, the value is “list” columns is shortened for no reason upon creation. Doesn’t matter how you move the column widths later, these columns remain fixed.
create a base from scratch. Mine checked for “spline not empty”.
I moved the spline column to the first position (left of file name) then I added the “director” list, and then the “Country” list. I moved spline to the right of Country to show how much room there was in the Country column to display the values.
I don’t have the time to recreate all the files required in order to recreate a base file in Sandbox. I quickly put this out there in case it was happening to someone else as well.

I’m just showing what happens.
Sometimes users don’t have the time to be proper beta testers. This is one of those times.
You could use my post as a “let’s see if this comes up again by some other user” before investigating, that’s fine.
I’ve got the same issue since updating to 1.11.4, I’m on Windows 11. Switched to the default theme in case it was a theming issue, but it is the same. Switching to “medium” for Row Height does fix it, but I’d rather use the small row height.
Adding to this with a proper bug report template. This also occurs for me on ipadOS in my main vault and in test vaults, including one made just for this bug report.
Steps to reproduce
Create at least one note and add the following:
An aliases property with only one value
A custom list property with only one value
A tag property with only one tag value
A cssclasses property with only one cssclass value
(For comparison purposes) create at least one note that has:
Multiple values in any of the above properties.
Create a base showing the above properties as columns in the default table with short row height.
Note the truncation of value names in anything that only has one value per cell for a property column.
Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]
Yes. I am on ipadOS, so created a brand new vault on my ipad drive (not icloud). It is in restricted mode, no CSS, default theme.
Expected result
I expect to see the single list value name in full when the column width allows for it.
Actual result
Truncation occurs, cutting off the last two characters for any value name if it is the sole value in a cell. Eg.
“Tag” becomes “T…”
“Long Text” becomes “Long Te…”
This only occurs for columns representing properties added to a note that allow multiple values: List/cssclasses/aliases/tags (single value type properties are not affected).
It does not occur for multiple value columns addable via bases (such as file tags, file backlinks…).
Length of the value name does not matter, nor whether it contains spaces. This happens on both plain text and link text.
The text will display correctly if more than one value is present in the property cell.
The text will display correctly if a cell enters edit mode.
