.base files in the graph show full path instead of just the name and extension is not stripped when linking in notes

Hi to the reader of this.

For being a first time user of obsidian halted by this two problems, would like to hear a feedback on reasonability of this post.

Problem

Long file path when having notes linked to some files with not expected extensions like .base in graph view, the duplicate of [Canvas files in the graph show full path instead of just the name] by f1xi. To which proposed solution would be of having extensions and paths to file being shown in file explorer but not in Graph view or notes, and managed by the program in background.

and another Problem

Canvas links auto-strip .canvas by adding “ | ” and .base do not right now.

Would be cool to see an option in setting for each extension individually but as of yet I’m not a contributor, so can’t ask for too much.

Hi Obsidian team, I’ve noticed that in the graph view, Canvas files (.canvas) are displayed with their full path instead of just their name, unlike regular Markdown notes. This makes the graph look cluttered, especially when using nested folders. Is this intentional behavior, or could there be an option to display only the file name, similar to .md files? If this is a limitation, would it be possible to add an option to hide the path for Canvas files in the future? Thanks for your great work …

When linking to a Base, it doesn't set a display name, like linking a Canvas does
