Automatically reveal file in File Explorer when I open a file from the Quick Switcher

Use case or problem

When I open a file through the quick switcher, I can’t see it in the File Explorer sidebar. Every time I have to manually open the command palette and click “Reveal active file in navigation”. This is very frustrating.

Proposed solution

Ideally, I’d love Obsidian to work the way VSCode does. Whenever you open a file - the File Explorer automatically scrolls to it and highlights it.

It doesn’t seem like a difficult feature to implement, but it would dramatically improve the UX.

I agree this should be a core feature. But in the meantime, there’s a community plugin: https://github.com/shichongrui/obsidian-reveal-active-file.

I think this is a grand idea.
