Hello,

Is there a way to automatically update notes metadata when a files is moved to another folder ?

Unfortunately, most file systems don’t have a built-in feature to automatically update notes metadata when a file is moved to another folder. However, you might be able to achieve this with some scripting or automation tools.

I forgotten to mention the move will be initiated from obsidian from the file view

you can move files to a folder in bulk for the purpose of updating metadata

check plugins like ‘multi properties’ and ‘file cooker’ – this latter can even be used with dataview queries so you can filter by property values to start with
