Hi everyone!
If you often write maths or LaTeX formulas in Obsidian, this plugin might save you a few nerves (and keystrokes).
Meet Auto Math — a lightweight tool that makes writing LaTeX just flow.

:sparkles: What it does

  • Adds smart autocompletion for LaTeX commands like \frac, \sqrt, and \sum
    → instantly expands them to ready-to-fill templates such as \frac{}{} with the cursor placed inside.
  • Lets you add your own snippets — so you can define custom completions or shortcuts for specific formulas.
  • Can be quickly toggled on and off via an icon in the left sidebar — perfect when you just want to type raw text.

Typing:

\frac

immediately becomes:

\frac{}{}

and the cursor jumps neatly into the first set of braces.

:puzzle_piece: Future plans

I’m planning to add topic-based snippet packs — e.g. algebra, physics, statistics — that can be imported or shared.

Currently available for testing via BRAT (Beta Reviewers Auto-update Tester):
