Hi All, I’ve been searching through the forum, and I’m either not using the right search terms, or have just been unsuccessful sifting through all of the posts.
I’m currently using Daily Notes alongside plugins such as the “Rollover Daily Notes” and “Reminder”, which have enabled me to have a pretty simple, but effective daily workflow. Recently, I’ve had a few tasks which have been set quite far in advance, so I’m trying to figure out bit of an unorthodox solution.
Currently, I would make a reminder task for these, which would set the reminder notification and list it in the task list. However, I would also like to have this task appear on the specified day’s daily note as well.
e.g., I would want “- (@2025-12-31) Wish Everyone a Happy New Year” to be added to my reminders list, but also copied over to the Daily Note for December 31st.
If I leave the task incomplete, then Rollover Daily Notes will easily roll it over from day-to-day-to-day, but I’d rather not have to look at that task every day and have to leave it unchecked until it comes up.
Is there a way / plugin / macro / code-edit, etc. which would allow me to automatically:
- Create the future Daily Note for the date of the reminder (if not already created)
- Copy the task to that new future Daily Note
Ideally, I would be able to create the ‘reminder’ task in today’s daily note, and then when the task rollover happens from the previous day, any task which has that ‘reminder’ structure would be copied over to the correct daily note, and ignored by Rollover Daily Notes.
