Attempting to write documents in obsidian

I am writing a document that will need to be signed once completed. I ended up getting a signature line added by putting a bunch of backslash underscores across the page and I used <be> to deal with making sure lines pad to give room for my signature. However, I am having a difficult time getting the signature and date lines to fit together properly.

my name is date

Is what I am looking for, but obsidian strips off all of the extra spaces and ends up giving me something like this:

my name is date

How can I accomplish what I’m attempting to do?

thanks,

Glenn

Well, Obsidian is based on markdown. Multiple spaces are ignored, so you’ll need a plugin or CSS snippet to change offset between words.

Also, you could try community themes like Dune to add this line indentation, more info here.

I realize that but it also takes HTML tags for some things so wasn’t sure if there was some special way to enter nbsp or something to force the spaces into place.

Thanks,

Not exactly what you want, but could the idea linked below be modified for your needs?
