Obsidian freezes on startup when launched on a mac using legacy core patcher. I have a workaround for anyone who might experience this and also a question for the dev group. The problem is with older macs that do not support metal and are upgraded to unsupported macos versions. The problems exists for chrome, chromium and electron apps. In these cases you need to pass an argument to obsidian: --use-angle=gl and everything works fine
There is a more permanent solution that patches chrome, chromium and electron apps, it patches the “Local State” file in “~/Library/Application Support/Obsidian” directory with this flag. The Obsidian electron app does not have a “Local State” file like most electron apps. Any ideas on if this “Local State” files exists elsewhere or under a different name? Any ideas?
