App is very slow when navigating between notes on Mac

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Sandbox app.
  2. Select initial note (e.g. Formatting > Callout)
  3. Select another note (e.g. Formatting > Comment)
  4. Notice a slight freeze (1-2 seconds) in the app, causing a loading spinner.

If that doesn’t work, select a few more notes in quick succession.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide?

Yes. In the sandbox with default theme, no snippets and no community plugins.

Expected result

Speedy navigation.

Actual result

Slow navigation.

Additional information

Since switching over to Mseries macs and all SSDs, I haven’t seen the spinning beach ball in a long time (ever?).

Out of curiosity, what’s the free storage space on your main drive? Are there any other apps acting strangely, slow, etc?

If you have the space, I’d create a test user account in macOS and try running Obsidian in that account (as a test) to see if there’s any difference.

Then we’ll know if it’s a user account issue or system-wide.

I recall other users having this problem had installed Obsidian under a different macos account
