So I have a table where I type in the day number in the top row the rest of the rows are the project names. When I do work on a project, I put a little fire icon in the box.
What I’d like to do is include the dates I work on something, in the project’s note (all the way in the left column). And maybe generate a daily log.
One thing I like about my current table is that it’s small, and I can see my streaks easily. And I can type [N](ProjectName) and get a link to the project’s page. I like to hover-edit new to-do items from this PseudoBujo view.
Is any one making tables where the top row is a date, or the left row is a list of notes?
It sounds like what you want to do is set up a note for each project or a note for each day. Log the work in those notes. Then pull the results into a dataview table rather than putting them into a manual table.
Hopefully someone who has done this can provide more detailed advice.
I see what you mean. However, I am wondering about going the “other” way, from an “overview” table with a few keystrokes to update several notes. Typing yyyy-mm-dd or the full project name is somewhat slow when I want to move quickly from project to project. I find that “interstitial” time is when I can get distracted and lose momentum.
I should add that some scripting is okay by me. I’m just wondering if someone has done something similar. I don’t mind tinkering with scripts, and then posting here what’s useful.
