Android: Drag and Drop does not work in outline, bookmarks, file explorer

After several tests, I am confident that this issue is caused by the WebView version.

• I installed an older version of Obsidian on the latest Galaxy Z Fold, but the same problem occurs.

• The Galaxy phone where drag-and-drop works fine likely has an older WebView version, around version 130.

In other words, the latest WebView version causes issues with drag-and-drop, making it difficult to use Obsidian properly.

Steps to reproduce

In android tablet, I try to keep dragging files to another place, but it doesn’t work. Compared to the tablet, the obsidian in my phone works well. I think this problem related to OS, particulary tablet version.

Yes. I have reset all vault and plugin, but dragging still doesn't work. I even have tried to installed oldest version of obsidian but it was same.

Expected result

→ I hope dragging the file from one to another place.

Actual result

→ Dragging doesn’t work. It seems like that dragging gesture cannot input in obsidian.

Is your Android WebView at least version 131? (Search the web for how to check that.) Prior versions had a bug that broke drag and drop, as mentioned in [Android] Drag and drop (tap, hold, drag) items in file explorer, outline, bookmarks does not work on mobile - #37 by WhiteNoise.

It seems that Android/Chrome had again a regression on this issue. We have to wait until it is fixed upstream. There’s nothing to do on your end. When an new version of webview for android is released, it’s usually automatically updated via google play

Great, Google just marked this bug as “Fixed” except … it’s not. I’m surprised that more people aren’t affected, or maybe they just don’t realize it yet.

Found the issue on my device: after booting into safe mode, the issue resolved. I had an app (Macrodroid) that had accessibility settings enabled (to allow for UI interactions). Disabling this setting resolved the issue. Hope this helps someone!

We haven’t been able to reproduce this problem on our devices for while now. Is anyone still affected, even after making sure that your android webview is updated?
