Where does it exist in the iOS app, and how do you add it to the mobile toolbar? I can’t find it anywhere.
It’s a feature of add attachment button. It’s using the iOS native UI.
Thanks! I never noticed that before.
Literally the only reason I haven’t switched to using Obsidian from logseq
Yup, same problem - on a 13t Pro and I only get one button saying upload and it’s for video
I desperately want this feature for android
It would make my animal pedigree tracking so much easier. Even the plugin I tried (Camera), doesn’t work on my phone. It only works for video, for some reason.
I’m here just to emphasize how cool it would be to have this feature on Android. Unfortunately, the camera plugin does not work for my Z Fold 6.
Especially with the Android app I often want to add quickly a picture to a note, e.g. I’m in a meeting, we draw something on a whiteboard and I want to add it to my notes. Right now I have to take a picture with the camera app, go back to my notes, add attachment, search for the picture and add it.
It would be really nice if the “add attachment” option would not only open the file browser but allow you to directly take a picture and add it.
Also supporting additional types of data would be nice, e.g. record a voice message and add it directly. But I would consider this a second step. Pictures would be most useful for me.
It’s already possible to record a voice message and add it to a note using the core Audio recorder plugin, either with its commands or the ribbon icon. I agree, though, being able to add a picture directly from the camera would be a great addition.
As a slightly smoother workaround for now you might be able to setup an automation (in Tasker, Automate, etc.) that lets you take a pic and automatically save it to your vault. Then when you go back to the vault you won’t have to search when you add it because as the latest file it’ll be the first item listed in the suggestions for links/embeds.
