Hi everybody.

Problem.

I have nothing to do with programming. I’m just a teacher. We all actively use Obsidian in the team.

I have a whole collection of tests, I would really like to transfer it to obsidian. But I can’t do that, because almost everywhere the task looks like this:

  1. The question.

  2. The answer option

  3. Another answer option

  4. Another option.

  5. The last option.

Obsidian sees all numbers with a dot as a list. But this is not a list per se! This knocks down the very principle of test tasks. And it is also very inconvenient to copy it to other applications (for example, to a learning platform).

and this big problem, It shouldn’t be from 1 to 5; it doesn’t have to be a list at all so that I can use this text in my NON-programmer work.

Decision.
Please add a feature to disable the automatic list.

I don’t want to avoid “dot” or write “slash” every time. I just want to copy and paste.

I think you are asking for too much. You are asking to get all markdown features except lists i.e. a toggle to disable markdown lists.

In markdown you write 1\. to disable list syntax. This is very useful since you can always choose to use list syntax while writing. What keyboard layout do you use? We could seek a solution for you to produce backslash more easily. Alternatively you could use a templater script or other script to automatically replace dots in selected text as slash dots to disable list syntax in selected text. There are helpful users who could write such script for you.
