Steps to reproduce

My system:
Linux alex-pc 5.15.0-139-generic #149~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 16 08:29:56 UTC 2025 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I’ve downloaded official appimage from obsidian website, created dir and i have this bug:

Starting from scratch, what are the steps to make the bug happen?

So this directory exists and I have a .obsidian folder, but the error is present.

And I am unable to create a new vault because Obsidian considers every directory on my machine as invalid.

I think there’s so problem specific with you system.
I can’t reproduce this.

Also, if the vault is boost geometry.md the .obsidian should be under ~/Documents/Obsidian Vault/boost geometry.md/

It seems you are running an old linux distro, you may wanna give a shot and try to run something newer.
