Allow Plugin update notification refresh time to be configured by user

Use case or problem

On this version: Obsidian 1.11.1 Desktop (Early access) - Obsidian there is a feature that notifies user of plugins that can be updated… The issue is, it will only do so every 3 days. This setting should allow user to configure the refresh time.

Furthermore, if it is kept at 3 days, this will likely be made redundant as user will most definitely click “check for updates” at least once before the 3 days is over. Additionally, what about hot fixes on plugins? User would have to wait 3 days to receive a notification of an update that is a hot fix grade?

Proposed solution

Allow setting to be configured. User should be able to state how frequent the refresh should be. I personally like having an “on vault launch” notification, but other users may like to be notified longer than 3 days.

Current workaround (optional)

Click the check for updates manually.

I don’t think this is true for most users (it’s certainly not for me). Many people never think to check for updates until someone suggests it during troubleshooting.

I want to clarify that he plugins aren’t auto updated, we check and notify the user if there are updates. So there’s no plugin auto-update.

I think it’s better you repost this feature request with this in mind if you think it’s necessary.

I fixed up the request

Ok, I also edited the title somewhat, and opened the topic back up.

(And personally glad to hear it is only a notification setting. I deleted my reply above)
