Actually Populate the Obsidian Snapcraft Page with content

Use case or problem

So the tiniest thing but the Quality of the Snap Page for Obsidian is, for lack of a better phrase, poor.

To give context, the image below is what it looks like on Ubuntu’s Software Centre.

Regardless of the non-working Icon, the fact the entire App’s description is “Obsidian” seriously had me thinking this was an unofficial snap, until I went onto snapcraft’s site and saw that, no… it is the official snap, its just got literally no information in it.

Proposed solution

It would be highly appreciated if something was done to populate the snap page, even if its the bare minimum of copy-pasting some of the text from the website or literally from one of the other package managers (such as the flathub info)… fixing the snap icon too would also be amazing haha.

It would just be nice if Obsidian didn’t look “sketchy” for snap users

Also, elephant in the room point, I can imagine one of the potential reasons this has been given a low priority could be due to people not listing the Snap install that often.

If this is the case, I want to point out that one of the reasons Snap might have a low utilization rate is because of the current state of its snap page.

Hence, if that is one of the reasons this has not been actioned, I would argue its a fallacy to not populate a page due to low usage, when the lack of content is probably contributing to the low usage…
