Use case or problem
When I open a file in new pane, the layout of the entire workspace will be disrupted.This makes the document much less readable. For example,the new pane is so narrow that it needs to be adjusted every time.
Proposed solution
I think it’s possible to have a blank area (like the initial interface when the software opens without any panes), when you selece “open in new pane”, it will be open in this blank area. Closing or opening new panes does not affect the layout of other areas.
It is like a smaller workspace in a workspace.
