Currently checkboxes in preview mode can be checked off in a normal document, however this behaviour does not work if the checkbox is inside an embed. My use case is as a master list of sub-tasks in other documents.
This would be a helpful feature that seems like it belongs in core, while we’re waiting for more comprehensive TODO /checkbox solutions that others have also requested or that may eventually come from user-land plugins.
