Use case or problem
With the default Dark mode, highlighting text makes it difficult for me to read it, and as I cannot easily distinguish bolded text from unbolded text, I have no easy way to make one part of text stand out without making it unreadable.
The ability to change the color of the highlighted text means that you can highlight things in different colors for different reasons (like highlighting names, places, and important information all in different colors for all note taking needs), in addition to making the colors readable for each person (as the current yellow makes text stand out in light mode as it is yellow highlighting black text, but in dark mode the yellow highlights white text, making it difficult to read).
Proposed solution
Have “Highlight” be its own section after selecting text, under Format. When you hover over it, it gives options for what color you would like to use for highlighting, perhaps being able to set a default, or all highlight stays with one color until you switch it.
