Asking for a Zen mode that can be simply activated by a hotkey.

  • I often keep or even pin several note panes open simultaneously. But I only work with a single one for most of the time.
  • I use zen mode in VScode when editing
  • It would be great to have a similar mode in obsidian

Have you tried using the clean theme someone has made? https://github.com/kmaasrud/clean-theme-obsidian

I’m not sure if it still works in the current version of obsidian (v0.7+) though.
You can try switching to this theme when working with a single note as a work around for now.
