My main problem with 750words.com is the lack of security. Despite asking, they’ve never confirmed that the notes are in any way encrypted. This means that the owners of the site could read my notes. Any hacker gaining access to the database could also get access to the notes. As the whole point of free writing is to be unfiltered that’s unacceptable to me.

I have a link from my daily note template to a file [[750words/750words-2024-07-11]]… a new link every day. This is where I do my free writing. I’ve excluded the 750words folder in Obsidian settings from search.
The Novel Word Count plugin lets you see at a glance the number of words, and some other stats, for each file in a specific folder. I’m not sure whether to go on number of words or time each day.
The metadata would be great… but privacy is more important to me!
