1.1.6 Setup Update - Wipes undoes my existing Themes (and active content) and other things - Did I choose wrong option? Recover them from Disk / Paths?
The initial 3 options post install were bit confusing so Im not sure if I was meant to choose something else?
PS: I’ve had some medical issues so I barely get to sit on the PC for much time but here I’ll share what I can.
What were the options? What did you choose? It’s difficult to tell from your description.
It was an update from within the Windows App itself.
Maybe you chose to turn off community plugins? If so, turn them back on.
I did not choose to turn anything off, but I’d like to have the updates not go do things in unexpected ways.
Maybe you updated from a very old version, and your theme was out of date? If so, you’ll have to update your theme, or find a new one.
That could be a possibility but I’d still like to have an idea of how & where these different kinds of configs / settings are stored on disk so that I can backup/ restore next time this repeats.
Also, what do you mean by “1.1.6 Update Setup”? Did you update from inside Obsidian?
Yes just followed the update setup from within Obsidian.
Did you download and reinstall the app from the website? Please try to explain the steps you followed.
Bug reports need to follow the template. This doesn’t mean we aren’t going to try to help you.
But I still have no idea what you’re talking about, sorry. Zero.
What is the “1.1.6 update setup”? Obsidian is currently on version 1.7.4.
What “update setup”? What “initial 3 options”? Please show a screenshot or something. Or list the steps you took, and what questions or steps the apps asked you about.

You didn’t answer any of my questions. You just repeated “followed the update setup from within Obsidian”. But again, I’m sorry, I have no idea what this is referring to. I’m wondering if you are talking about a different app!
I’ll repeat, please show a screenshot or something. Or carefully list the steps you took, and what options you saw while taking the steps.
